Barbra Newport has made it into the top 27 out of over 250 entries in the “Show us Your Studio” contest sponsored the the Profession Artist magazine. They just posted an album of the finalists on their Facebook page:

This is a collection of photos showing the Fall Membership Exhibit that took place at the Arizona Art Alliance gallery in Scottsdale. It was truly a great show and a lot of fine art was displayed.
At the September meeting we had an awesome demo of work done by En Chuen Soo. And let me tell you that neat little lady was up to her elbows in paint and having a ball. At you can see in the photo on the right members were soaking up all of her talent and will soon try a few themselves. Awesome….way to go girl!
AAA is an umbrella organization of 34 art leagues, and holds semi-annual shows in their gallery at the Pavilions Shopping Center in Scottsdale. Member leagues have their own two-week show. Individuals in member clubs can apply for juried status to be eligible to enter the Holiday Show, and a special show in November honoring veterans.

• To become a juried member, check the web site for the next submission of your application, jurying fee and a CD showing three of your finest works! You’ll be notified immediately of acceptance so you can apply for entry to the shows. The forms for those, and the prospectus, are on their website. Go to http://www.azartalliance.com/
• The deadline for application to the November show, themed “America – What a Great Country!” is October 19. It costs $35 for a 3-foot x 6-foot panel.
• The deadline for application to the Holiday Show, themed “Give the Gift of Art” October 18. It costs $50 a panel.

A workshop in progress!
The workshop classroom is available for $50 if you wish to teach workshops. AAA will advertise on their website and with email notices. Several workshops are currently scheduled. Check the AAA website at azartalliance.com for more information.
The gift shop has been enlarged, and you need not be juried to display small items there, like prints and cards. Call Kelley Smith at 623-229-6720 for more info.
